Calendar of Events 2020 - June

ALERT: All in-person June programming will have guidelines that patrons must follow if they are to remain on site. The guidelines are accessible at the front page of this website.

Friday 19 June

8:30 pm to 10:00 pm: Evening Sky Viewing Weather permitting, viewing through one or more telescopes will take place. During this time the waning crescent Moon will be below the horizon. Please keep headlights off while parking and leaving, and drive slowly! [No admission fee. For all ages.]

Saturday 20 June

7:30 pm to 10:00 pm: Evening Sky Viewing Weather permitting, viewing through one or more telescopes will take place. During this time the New Moon will be at a maximum altitude of 3°. Please keep headlights off while parking and leaving, and drive slowly! [No admission fee. For all ages.]

Friday 26 June

8:30 pm to 10:00 pm: Evening Sky Viewing Weather permitting, viewing through one or more telescopes will take place. During this time the waxing crescent Moon will be at a maximum altitude of 50°. Please keep headlights off while parking and leaving, and drive slowly! [No admission fee. For all ages.]

Saturday 27 June

9:00 pm to 12:00 am: Asteroid Day Spearheaded by BRAS, this annual local celebration at HRPO of the worldwide event will provide for patrons information on the origins of asteroids, viewing them and their danger to Earth♁. Hands-on demonstrations and activities will focus on the “minor planets.” [No admission fee. For all ages.]
