Originating years ago as a weekly outdoor presentation, HRPO’s cornerstone program—now indoors—provides free, entertaining and intelligent science talks to the citizens of the Baton Rouge area.
Perennially favorite speakers and topics are interspersed through the calendar year with surprising new guests and new concepts. No expertise in the physical sciences is required.
The lectures are aimed toward a general adult audience. Most high-schoolers have no trouble enjoying them.
After the talk and question-and-answer session, a door prize giveaway takes place. The number drawn corresponds to the number of a seat, so a patron must be seated for a chance to win the prize. The 20OGS is unlocked (weather permitting) for viewing until 10:00 pm.
