Periodically two bright object in the sky will get close together from our point of view here on Earth. This event is called a conjunction and can involve the Moon and a planet, the Moon and a star, two planets, or a planet and a star. On the evening of 17 June—quite low in the western sky—the waxing crescent Moon will begin a diagonal line of four objects, with Venus and Jupiter and finally Mercury lowest to the horizon.
This viewing will replace the standard Mercurian Elongation viewing to take advantage of this beautiful lineup!
